We took two of our cars to Northstar Dragway this past weekend. We were testing both as my Dart Sport had the backhalf redone and some bars added to the cage and her Duster had gotten a head upgrade and a roll bar. We went from some worked J heads to Edelbrock LA heads that I had the valves backcut on and I did some clean up to also. The intake was also milled to sit down perfect on the heads. The best pass at this track before the head swap and roll bar was a 7.41@91 in really good conditions. This track is usually slower for both of our cars over other tracks but is a really good track. The conditions weren't great this weekend with high humidity and low pressure but the car still managed a 7.26@93. This is just a pump gas 360 I built in a 3200lbs car footbraking. Nothing real special about the combo just matched parts. Here's a pic if it works.

If you wouldn't mind, I would really like to know that entire combo. I'm a small block newbie and about to embark on a mild project of my own...and just happen to have a really nice 360 core shortblock...

Thanks!

That thing runs good for that combo! How about the Dart Sport? Any progress there?

Nice improvement on your ET.Hows the track there now ?Im gunna be running my Dart there this coming weekend at a Nostalgia event .I heard that they did some work to the track and it wasnt that good now .My Dart ran a very simular 7.27 @ 94 last fall and was just wondering how the 60 foot traction was there now...

Thats a good running combo. And a nice car. I would also like to know the 60 ft. It runs about the same as my mild 92 pump 440 does in my 3700 lb 63. My best 1/8 is 7.28 at 93 and some change with a best 60 of 1.57. So I was curious how the lighter car 60 ft compared to my heavier car with the bigger eng. Again thats a good et for the combo. Ron

Northstar is a top notch track. I was fighting my Dart trying to sort out the new backhalf but once I did the 60' never changed. It was 1.35 five times in a row. They grinded the track surface over the winter to smooth the surface but haven't had many cars go down it to put rubber down, but it was good for us this past weekend.

Mom was driving the car and she was 60' I think 1.58-57. It may have been faster. I usually 60' a little faster in her car because I bring it up on the converter a little more. The combo is just a .020 over 360, RPM heads, Airgap intake, TTI headers, 850 Quickfuel, Hughes 1.5 rockers, Eagle SIR rods, KB flat top pistons, stock crank, and a Lunati Voodoo .513/.533 flat tappet hydraulic. ATI 3000 converter, 904 with low gear set, and 4.30 gears with M/T 28.0/9.0.

Brian the Dart is getting there but no new bests for it this time out. The air was really nothing special and the tranny is still slipping into second. Hopefully I can fix it with a band adjustment. I think Mom's car will run 7.10's in some really good air.

Just got back from the track with better weather and another new best of 7.21. Those 7.10's are getting closer.
