Will a 295 50 r 15 fit under a duster with no mods? I will be throwing them on some 15x8 slots. Thanks, Jon

I have a 72 demon. I'm running 275/60/15 bfg tires on the back and they barely clear the springs (lots of street miles and you can barely see the rub on the tire) and the body is lifted some to clear the outside (arched springs) I think I could drop it down but it would be sketchy and probably require rolling the lip.

So I didn't exactly answer your question, but I hope I helped. By the way the wheels are wheel vintiques 15x8 rallys

No Jon, 265/275 60 15 is it for the rear.

10 inch rim, an 4.5 backspace should fit, but be close to the spring and the car will need to be raised with some tight springs(or worse case, air shocks) to avoid being stabbed by the upper wheel lip on a bump. it would sit flush with the outer most part of the 1/4 panel.

275/60/15's on 15 x 8 rims with 4.5 backspacing fit perfectly with my SS springs, 8 3/4 and spring perches in stock location. I can fit three kids in the backseat and never had the tires rub.

Right- they totally fill up the space, but you need the ss springs to keep the body off them. If I was rich I would have big huge tires tubbed in with the car dropped so the wheel well sits just above the rim on the back, but I actually like the slightly lifted to clear big tires look. Kinda oldschool and if the rake isn't too silly it still corners good.

Seen the 'poppa johns' commercials? His brand x car has the back lifted to clear and the tires sticking out the sides a few inches. Just my opinion but it looks real dumb. Especially now that people are running way below 10 second 1/4 miles with 10.5" slicks.

Anyway, good luck and post pictures when you get it together!

On my dart the front 225 tires are about the limit. Might not be a good comparison- mine are 225/45/17

They work great except when turning into a parking lot with a small bump/curb- if you go too fast (like past a crawl) they rub the trim around 11 o clock (drivers side 'clock')

Mine are on 7"x17" american racing torque thrust IIs stock backspace.

The 255 on the back will be fine- no headaches or troubles.

Good luck!
