Want to improve handling for a 66' B body 383 4-speed on the cheap. A street car but I want it to feel like the newer cars. Moog offset upper control arm bushings or tubular arms? (looking to get about 4 degrees + caster?) Front & rear sway bars-Addco or Mopar Performance? FirmFeel power steering #3 with long pitman?

In bang for the buck I would say
1. Decent shocks (KYB's have done well for me)
2. Basic rebuild (bushings, tie rod ends ect). Rubber is the safest bet for lower control arm bushings
3. Front sway bar
4. Frame connectors
5. Bigger T bars. 1" seems to work well w/o too much harshness
6. Offset bushings
7. Or tubular control arms

A level II or III Firm Feel box woul be nice with any of these.

-Stock A-arm with moog offset bushings. No need for adjustable strut rods. If you want to make extra sure to get a lot of caster just cut/shave 3/16" of the rear poly strut bushing and strut sleeve to make it stock thickness: http://www.heritech.org/cuda/bushings.html

-1.00" Torsion bars that Just Suspension is blowing out for like $159/pr. I think the sale ends soon, so hurry up.

-On the cheap Addco sway bars for around $100 ea on ebay. But the front attachment setup really stinks. Firm Feel, Hellwig, Hotchkis are all very good. Go with what fits your budget and the detail features you like.

-Make sure the long pitman works with your headers or has room behind you current headpipe. IIRC, its sets over 1" further back. Comfirm distance with Firm Feel.

Sale on $159 just went to $179, so it's still a good price.

You'll do alot with their suggestions on suspension. Also look into rear leaf springs, they won't hurt your handeling either.

I just ordered a set of UCA's at $159 with free shipping over the phone. Tell them you saw it for $159 and they may honor it.

I also ordered two sets of 1" t bars because $159 per set is a STEAL.

They shipped it all for free too. How in the heck can they do that?

A set of sway bars will give you the best handling improvement for your money assuming the suspension bushings are in good shape.

Mark,

We have adjustable strut rods for $120 pair, or $150/pr with bushings. They are larger than stock and offer over an inch more of adjustment.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Randy

Are there any sway bar fitment issues when using disc brakes?

If you're asking about our product, no there isn't.

If you are running a 66 K-member that has the wide style sway bar you should run the calipers to the rear of your spindle.

You can shorten the sway bar links, but I think it's a cleaner install to just put them in the rear.

I have a 68 k member in the Belvedere convertible. (car was a slant 6). Car is completely stripped (on a rotisserie) and all I have done is welded in frame ties. Car will be a Sunday driver that I want to feel more "modern".

Would it be wise to use the weld-on control arm sway bar brackets from Hotchkis? Looks like a cheap & clean install.

Thanks Guys

Good think you got a 68 K-member with the better thru bolt idler arm. Great idea to put subframe connectors in a convertible.

I think the $30 66-69 Hotchis sway bar adapters are a great deal and make for a install the looks stock unless you're eyeballs are under 2' away from you LCA's under your car.

On a conv. cruiser, I wouldn't go any more that 1" T-bars.
