Hey guys, I've been away from small blocks for so long, I have forgotten the intricasies...
This cuda was a 318, I'm putting in a 80 -81 360 from a truck.
The pass manifold APPEARS to be the same, but I'm swapping the drivers. Not sure if gasket overhang will be an issue.
The drivers side engine mount doesn't line up to the rear boss (bout a 1/2 " back... )
I installed a new oil pump and "proper?" car pickup.
The pan I got from the wrecker (360 car?) seems that the rear pan seal is larger than needs to be.. It seems to be the same size as the front? What pan is this?
What dipstick do I need?

Thanks for any help, Rem

Need left side motor mount or shim what you have to make work. K frame same. 318 pan is different and both end are the same. You need a 360 pan.

So just a half inch of washers and it'll drop right in?? The front two ears are just bolted flat to the mount..

pan sounds like a 318 pan. 360 pan, the rear opening is smaller than the front

use a stack of washers to fill the gap on the motor mount

don't forget to use a B&M weighted flexplate, as the 360 is external balanced, the 318 internal

your 318 dispstick should work

Thanks Patrick.. that all makes sense. I got the 360 to 904 b&m plate.
Do you know if the ex manifold on the pass is the same? And if I made a gasket for the 318 manifold (dr Side) is there enough meat to seal at the bottom?

Or just knock the weight/s off the converter and run it as is.

Its a 318 904 so there are no weights and the 360 had a 727 lockup.

My bad - deleted post. I have a number of times knocked the weights off a 360 converter to locate and weld them onto aftermarket converters.

dunno....I'd think so....

but I'd put headers on it, anyway

FWIW, the M body (dip/5th ave) exhaust manifolds have 360 sized openings. that may be another option for you if you're looking for something to work.
