Congrats on the accomplishment, the car looks great. I still haven't decided on the colour yet so by spring I should have it figured out and right after paint the shipping truck will be there to pick it up. Just throw all the parts inside and I will look after the rest. I really appreciate you donating your time.......and the car to my cause.

I have literally spent almost the entire month of January priming and block sanding this car. I am completely worn out. There is a lot of sheet metal on a '68 GTX!

Anyways, the car is ready for paint. Unfortunately, the weather is not nearly nice enough here to spray paint. I will have to wait until Spring gets here. Once the weather warms up, I will block the car one last time with 500 grit and take it all apart and start applying the color. In the meantime, I've got to get back to my regular job.

Stan

I hear ya on that! I sanded my fingers off last summer on my dads car.Your car looks great, you are really rolling right along.

Car looks great. Better to let it sit, let that primer settle, plus a little break is good.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I figure I will shoot the paint in April or the beginning of May, depending on the weather.

Right now I am taking a break. I'm also giving my bank account a little break. I've been giving it a work-out the past several months.

Superfreak: How does QQ1 blue with white stripes sound? I can't wait to start applying the color!

Hey Stan, looks like your moving along pretty good on the 68 GTX. Looks good. Hope to see ya in May at Hooters with the 67 GTX although I haven't heard anything from Lt. Dan about this year.

I haven't posted here in a while. I just finished up a 60 day patrol in the Atlantic a couple of weeks ago.

Yesterday I finally finished applying the QQ1. I will let it set up a few days and start the sanding and buffing procedure.

68427vette: I have a fender tag for the car but no build sheet.

bobbyb: As you can see, the car is finally coming together. It is a LOT of work. I haven't heard anything from LT Dan about a get together this year. I may run into him this weekend though.

The paint is now sanded and buffed. Not too shabby for a back yard paint job. Now it is time to start putting it back together again.

Ben: I was actually working on the coupe a little bit last week. I've got big plans for it...

Well, it has been a very crazy last couple of months. I have been wrenching on this car every day trying to get it ready for Carlisle. The car is not finished yet but I will be driving it the 5 hours up there on Thursday morning. I got it running Saturday afternoon and have ran nearly three tanks of gas through it. The console is not in it yet, the stripes are not on it yet, etc. But... it will be at Carlisle! I've got the trunk loaded with spare parts and tools and hopefully things go smoothly. I also have a pocket full of money for gas!

If you see me up there, stop by and say "Hello!"
