I've actually got a bunch more accomplished but very few pictures to show for it. I did get the LH quarter removed and the new quarter on. I just have to finish welding up a few spots along the bottom rocker portion of it.

I picked up another gallon of primer yesterday. I would like to get this car stripped down next week and get some primer on it.

Dave: Hopefully you will get a chance to see the car this summer. I think it is going to be beautiful.

The left quarter panel is on and it looks great. I have been cleaning up the floor and trunk pans getting them ready for primer. It's a LOT of work.

I'll post more pictures later.

What did you use on the seam that joins to the roof skin? Did you use lead, metal filler or regular filler?

For as thick as the bondo was, it seems to have held together better than usual. The car is looking great! It's moving forward and shaping up nicely.

More progress. Over the last few weeks I have stripped the car down to bare metal and today I shot some primer on it. I used a self-etching primer since I took it all the way down.

Dave,
I'm hoping it will be done this summer. It's coming along nicely. Here is another picture.

Nice job on those quarters! That car is so worth all the work.

Superfreak: I actually haven't put anything on the seams yet. There seems to be a lot of debate over what is "best" for those seams. I doubt that I will be using lead though.

69Cuda340S: Thanks for the comments. The car is really starting to look nice now.

It was a big push to get the car to this stage. I am going to start on the fenders, doors, and hood this week. They will require very little metal work. Just stripping the paint and getting some primer on them.

Looking good Stan! Any progress on the A12, or concentrating on the Hemi X for now?

Thanks Rich,
It should be pretty sweet when it is finished. By the way, I am super pleased with the plug wires I got from you a couple of years ago. I'll be purchasing another set when I get this thing together.

James,
I have done very little to the Super Bee. I HAVE to get this car together before I start on that. I have pushed it around the garage a few times to make room for stuff. It will be my Dad's car. Hopefully in the next few years him and I can take our cars cruising together. I'm looking forward to it.

Looks like you are coming along very well on the car. I know it is a lot of work but the finished car will be worth all of the time and effort.

A little more progress. I have actually got the doors and fenders ready for primer but as those of you on the East Coast already know, we had ourselves a bit of a snow storm. My garage is too small and when I prime these pieces, I need to push the GTX outside while I do it. I'm not going to push it out in the snow right now because I would have a heck of a time pushing it back into the garage.

So, I have taken some time to take the front suspension apart. If you remember from some of my earlier posts, the K-member had some really hacked up bolt holes. I cut out a 3/8" brass plate and used it as a backing while I welded the holes back up. I did all four yesterday afternoon. They turned out great.

I got the fenders and doors primed and hung. I stripped the hood and the two grill support pieces yesterday. It's starting to look like a car again!

I have literally spent almost the entire month of January priming and block sanding this car. I am completely worn out. There is a lot of sheet metal on a '68 GTX!

Anyways, the car is ready for paint. Unfortunately, the weather is not nearly nice enough here to spray paint. I will have to wait until Spring gets here. Once the weather warms up, I will block the car one last time with 500 grit and take it all apart and start applying the color. In the meantime, I've got to get back to my regular job.
