How important is the block surface finish with the nitrile coated gaskets? My problem with it is that my block was surfaced when I built it a few years ago...and I'm not going to pull the motor apart just to refinish the block with a finer finish for MLS gaskets.

Very Important!

The instructions with both brands of gaskets tell you to use a cartridge or pill of stop leak from GM, they furnish the part number in the instructions. To bad they don't include the stop leak with the gaskets I had a new hemi motor (the old Mopar brand block, not a World brand block) block leak due to too course on the stock block deck surface from Mopar I ended up having to take the motor apart to have it resurface ot a # 10 RA or smooother finish to make the gaskest seal

Hey cab when i worked at the gm dealer any time a Cadillac with a north star engine came into the shop. no matter what we was doing to it. we would put a couple of the gm collent leak pellets in the rad. If you need me to i can get the part number for them.

But does anybody have the part number for the Mr. Gasket MLS head gaskets for a .030 440 with edelbrock 84 cc heads? thanks Mopar65
