I'm so confused. I thought HP was HP. Why would it matter how much power the blower takes to spin. It's not like the N/A guys say. My motor makes 700hp, but the dyno only showed 500 because the rings, bearing friction, valve spring compression, and pumping losses, take up 200 HP.

So did the challenger make 1140 FWHP, or are you adding in something for the blower loss?

I still can't see how the challenger made 1140FWHP, and went 8.50, and the Duster will only make 850FWHP, but only be .5 slower?...

Let me try to clarify...
The engine dyno physically measures 1140 flywheel hp. The engine's internals produce around 1400. The supercharger eats up the difference.

Let's compare MPH's instead of ET. Your mph at the track tells you how much power you really make - the ET tells you how well you can apply that power. If you focus on the mph's on the charts we gave, it should make a little more sense. The data was from our engine dyno, to our chassis dyno, to the real-world test - the dragstrip.
The Challenger runs a 149 mph in 8.90 secs with about 890 fwhp weighing 3500-3550. based on our data both on the chassis dyno and at the track, it takes our Chally about 200 more HP to get her to go from an 8.90 to an 8.50 because of how the car is set up. If this was a Z06 Vette or any other car, it might not take that much hp to go from a .90 to a .50...our car isn't the most aerodynamic nor was it built as a "race car". It was built as a street car that can compete with the race cars...
We drive her on the street all summer....we put the street pulley on, the street exhaust on, the street tires, and she's good for cruising.
Based on our data, my Duster should be able to run in the 8.90's with 850 fwhp weighing approximately 3400 lbs less. Will it be work? Yes! But very do-able.

We can also be seen in the December 2008 issue of Mopar Muscle magazine!
