Got my car back a few weeks ago from the body shop. It's only in primer so we can weld in a cage, do some suspension mods, and a few other "tricks"... Now I have to get Scott started on my motor! I can't wait to have my OWN car again!! Here are some pics [image] http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt328/sdconcepts/Wendy%2070%20Duster%20Build/DSC02554.jpg[/image] The trunk is HUGE! Definitely enough room for the rollcage, battery, AND groceries! The 340 engine patiently awaiting her new fate! High 8's, low 9's! With a little help from our twin turbo kit...

Do you think the motor will handle the 2 turbo's or are you planing on going through it?

Looks like its going to be a cool car, a cool car with some split cylinder walls, we have split cylinder walls on half grouted blocks making less power than what is being talked about here.
Best of luck, Bill
Let's place some bets all you doubters! So what HP level will we be at when the block splits? What are you willing to wager when we prove you wrong? Bill, just because you couldn't do it, doesn't mean we can't...maybe we know something you don't? Not being condescending or insulting at all....maybe we can all learn something from one another instead of saying how it can't be done... Hear me out...if a Ford 302 can do it why can't a Mopar?! Especially if it's done right? We've been boosting mopars for a long time....not once have we split a block in half. And that's the truth...keep the block happy and it'll last for along time....10 years ago when our chally was a small block it was a stock block, stock rods, cast crank, NOT balanced, KB pistons, flat tappet cam, J heads, P600 blower...she ran 10.60's at 128 mph with a 1.45 short time...that engine is STILL in one piece!! We were told then we were gonna split the block and guess what...we proved you wrong! Then we moved on to the big block platform because we had a lot of requests for big block supercharger kits. Our STOCK 383 block in our Chally is going on 8 years now making about 1300HP....no split blocks here, my friend!

The motor will definitely be gone thru....stay tuned for details....I believe we'll be doing an engine/turbo "how to" article with a mopar mag on this build....

Looks nice, & the car ain't too bad either!!!!
Thanks!
I was making sure the groceries have plenty of room to slide around in the trunk! Actually, I couldn't believe how much room a Duster trunk has....I was asking Scott what had to get put in the trunk such as battery, rollcage, etc. and I told him I didn't want the trunk full of "crap" so when I go to the store, we go for car trips, etc, I need to be able to put my stuff there! He looked at me like I had 10 heads and said, "if you can fit in the trunk, you'll have plenty of room for whatever you need to put in there...I didn't think I was gonna fit so I had to climb in and "prove him wrong"!!! Needless to say, I was the wrong one!

Remember to make the appropriate noises depending on where you are in the car.... Behind the wheel = "Vroom, vroom, WAAAAAAA!" In the trunk = "..but I did't steal your money! Please don't bury me in the desert!"

why not dakuda???????? 8.90's, low 9's...the car needs about 700HP to the rear wheels...approx 850 to the flywheel. will it be work? Yes. Is it impossible? no. we've been there done that....for 15 years now we've been building engines and cars with forced induction...we are not a fly by night, back-yard garage. yet there's this aura of negativity and doubt in our abilities....why?
have some faith mopar peeps! You guys are too negative! damn....

cool video I think you need a line lock for the burnouts though also sounds like a miss on the big end?
thanks! he had a line lock...was having some issues with it. We've since fixed it and his burnouts are awesome now. as far as the breaking up, he's plowing thru his converter. we'll be addressing that in a month or so.

thanks for the tips, gy3! I'll be hittin you up for more necessary sound effects as the build goes on! Like when I have to help install the cage, clean engine parts, reupholster the interior....gotta get those sounds down before I get to the fun ones!

Installing the cage = "@(*#$&(@#" from the hot slag falling perfectly into the side of your shoe and melting your sock to the side of your ankle! Doin the interior = Snorting like a pig when I'm using those hog ring pliers. Really annoys the wife! Cleaning engine parts = "AAAARRRRRGH!" especially when you have a small open cut and you get parts cleaner in it. Rubber gloves would be the smart thing to do but I dare to be stupid.

Good lookin' Duster fastfish. Do you guys have any job openings, maybe need a CAD tech.? I really like your out of the box approach to things and would love to contribute to a company like yours.

Fastfish....I sure home you can make that big power on a stock block, because I am going to try to do the exact same thing!!!!!!!I may call for pointers if you dont mind
Hi joshking440.... Stay tuned! I believe we may be doing a how-to article with one of the mopar mags focusing on the engine build and how to properly choose turbos...if that doesn't happen for some reason, we plan on having a dedicated page on our website following the build up of this project with plenty of pics, vids and info. Good luck with your build!!
