I'm curious about the little tacked on weight on my rear brake drums, it's an 8 1/4 rear, 10" non-finned deals. one of them is fine, the other snapped off, but I have the weight. I was going to look into welding it back or having it stuck back on, I was curious what the purpose was? it seems the drum would be even;y weighed by itself without the weight, or is it offsetting something else?

thanks
