On a non a/c 70 340 what is the correct fan part # ? And what would the fan clutch # be, non a/c, if so equipped ? Manual trans & auto the same # ? Would the max cooling incorporate the clutch automatically ?

Are you sure about that Mike? The correct one for my T/A is a 2806070 fan clutch, I thought that was the correct one for all '70 340's?
Fairly rare and not cheap when you find one for sale.

215 is for B Bodies which would not be 340 equipped, but would be for big block cars. The correct 340 fan is a 216. The 070 is the correct clutch.

Thanks for the clarification then. This would make for a sweeter deal for me then, as I already have both. For the record, it is for an E Body. So to confirm and drop the gavel, it's the 216 w/ the 070..Right ?

guess i should have asked what body, 70 71 340 a body is what i answered with. 215 fan is correct for many 340 383 440 hemi cars, max cooling i think got the 216 fan it all depends. 215 + 18" 216 18.5"

70 340 E Body, 216 and 070 with and without max cooling they will be correct for both applications.

Sooooo, safe to say a 112 and a 216 would be correct for a 71 340 E body ?

Yes....though I prefer to call it the 2112 clutch....

As mentioned, A-bodies are different and use a smaller clutch & fan

for 1971

Caution is required when using the parts catalogs for original application questions. I went through a number of broadcast sheets and compiled the following list. I have added full part numbers from GG's "white book" and it appears the "216" 7-blade fan was used to a greater extent than the list above would lead one to believe. I thought I had more A-body sheets.
