Install the anti backfire conversion kit in it if it doesn't have it added. I remember a friend that ran a 780 on a 289. Good MPG until he swapped the 271HP cam for a General Kinetics .5++ lift cam, and modded it to be straight 4bbl manual.

It turned out to be a 3310-2 so it isn't a 780. I did find about 3 books in my library that are fairly recent. Two were Holley only so I will be looking into it.
My whole fuel system is kinda messed up and I will likely be working on that too.
I'd like to get this on the road and running decently so motivation is high......

It doesn't matter if it's a 780cfm/#3310 or 750cfm/#3310-2, it will flow the same. Both have the same throttle and venturi sizes, which are also shared with the 800cfm/#4780.
I used a #3310-2 on an iron head 440 Duster I had in the '90s, ran a best of 10.30 shifting at 6000rpm.
Yeah, but the 780 has the better downleg boosters vs the straight boosters in the later 750 3310's. I always figured this is where the 30 cfm went. -dulcich
