Does anyone have an pictures or info on a 1967 Barracuda that was raced in the late 60s early 70s, it was called Mister X, has a straight axle front end, and alot of old school tricks, I am working a trade on the car and any info would be great.. Thanks in advance...

A guy named Ted May owned that car back in the seventies and early eighties...as I recall he was from the midwest area, Chicago maybe? As I recall, the car was pretty successful

He went on to be pretty successful in IHRA Pro Mod in the early days.

Yes, I agree that is Ted May's car. I raced against him a number of times back in the 80's at Cordova and Byron.

I got the car home sunday night and snapped these pictures today.... I am going to try and have it running in time to make some pass at our local Nostalgia race on May 15 at US 60 Dragway and hit a few others this summer... I got some info that the car was called Proud Rebel when it was first built...

King, ya did good. I can't tell what shape the body is in but I see it has got all the trim, emblems, bumpers, grill, and glass. That stuff adds up in a big hurry. You didn't happen to get those Keystones in the earlier photo? Not that those slots (ET's or Fenton's?) aren't kool. Best of luck with your rebuild.

Kind of Ironic but the Comet I traded in on the car had the Keystones that Mister X used to wear....

That Comet is way cool! I would've had a hard time letting that one go!
