Looking at a few lobes for my 512 build.
Take a look at the lobes and see which one(s) you like as far as a mix of power and durability. The cam is going in a street car that will see 1k or so a year on the street, so durability is a concern.

Bullet .875

310 Adv 272@.050 182@.200 .3910 lobe lift .016 lash

Bullet .904
302 272 185 .4000 .009

Comp XTQ
298 272 184 .392 .018

Comp XX
304 272 182 .406 Lash not given

Ultradyne NF.842

299 271 182 .3934 .016

Engle

272 182 .408

FWIW, the Bullet tech told me the Bullet .875 lobe listed above would be a poor choice, as its shown for a flat head.

Combo is a 11 to 1 512,
Ported BS heads,1.58 rockers, Vic Jr, 950 carb
3900 lb car, 3.73 gear.

Im leaning towards the Comp XTQ, Bullet .904, UD NF .842 or Engle but looking for opinions

Double check with Bullet. I think you got the lash wrong on the .904 lobe. I believe it is 0.009 x rocker ratio, so 1.5 x 0.009 = 0.014" lash

I'll give em a call. I went back and checked and it is shown as .009 on the website. Thanks.

Quick comments off the top of my head(ers?):
1. Bullet lash specs are given for the lobe, not the valve; multiply x rocker ratio, plus add .002" for exhaust lash

2. I heard recently Engle has closed its doors, so don't get too set on one of their cams.

3. I run a smaller Comp XX 298/266 grind in my Challenger. A Comp tech rep (one who actually knows something) said I could run it from .016-.024". I think the XX has better RPM capability (and probably better reliability) than the XTQ.

Drag car or street car. Bullet's got some nasty lobes (including the old UD NF series 904's that are violently quick....but too aggressive for street longevity.

512 I like a big intake ramp and would tend to use a faster ramp on the intake and a less intense (ex: maybe 4-6 degrees shorter at .200 for the relative same @ .050 ramp) exhaust lobe. I like both of the comp series lobes you call out, but Bullet is pretty much cutting edge right now on their mopar stuff. I'd talk to Tim Goolsby at Bullet and see what he picks for your exact combo and how you're gonna run it. Not much about your performance parameters/expectations here to go by...head flow and CR would help a ton. If the Bs's flow in the ~340 range by .550 I'd run something around 272/276 @.050 on 108 in at ~104-105...it'll fly and will pull hard even with the 3.73's. i'm guessing by the Vic intake it's a standard (or slightly larger) 906 size port....if it were a maxie/super Victor I'd put it in about 2 degrees earlier.

I told to Engle this AM, so they are still open..at least today. LOL.

I wasted 30 mins or so on hold waiting for Comp this AM. Finally got through and the guy told me the XX and STQ lobes are way too violent for street use. I knew you were using the XX, so I didnt argue with him.

Street car. Mine are in the 315 range at .550, 327 at .650. Yes,standard port and just a hair over stock port size.

LOL that dude must be new, I talked to him the other day when I called to order a cam.... did'nt catch his name, but I can guarantee just based on what he said to me & you that it was same guy, he was not most intelligent person I've ever talked to, & he questioned everything I was telling him/asking them to grind....

If you ever call back as for, Kirk, Richard or Tim.... to avoid whoever that was you talked to.
