started working on it again cleaning up the engine found E383 8 7 with a 2 below it... car is 828 SPD.. inside engine looks pretty darn clean hopefully it will run soon dan

one stiep forward 5 back... 2 ex valve stems are pitted away... might as well fix it while i,m in this far...

pulled the heads and #5 is fuel washed clean...may as well pull it now and see whats hiding... man this ones making me do it all... glad i didnt try and get it started! dan

almost have all the hydraulics done, pulling the old motor tomorrow hopefully [weather] have the other 383 ready to drop in.. still need a few parts hopefully it will run soon... then next winter i,ll rebuild the orig engine! dan

engine back in! finally! just need a wiring harness and an A/C idler pulley or just the bearing [anyone know where to get one???] dan

That looks like a Holley on there...didn't it originally have a Carter AVS?

little more done today..got the engine sitting level finally... using a dr side schumacher mount and stock pass side..had to cut off the locating tab and large nut they use [bolt is larger diameter than stock]..that way i could retain the original bolt and that let the engine sit level.. did the p/s pump, valve covers, ex manifolds and brackets, maybe next week i can get under it and do exh starter etc... dan

That's an Imperial style tire. GoodYear Power cushion I seem to recall. That exact size is a little too small for the 64-66 Imperials but perhaps used on the 67-70?

dan can you post a picture of the pass side of the carb at manifold , curious to see what they did to the carb to make it fit a 69 intake .
