cuda-sweden mopar C Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 434 sweden	cool stuff,there where 5c and 6c and the 6c is multiple discarge variant,and if i remember it right instructions for both types says to use the 4 prong ballast.none off mine has rpm limiter.

BUT,hey hey hey,the one to have is a similar box made by msd for the ramchargers back then.i missed one of those on ebag a couple of months back these boxes are cool,there is a bit of reading in the d-c bible about them.

sublimehemi OP enthusiast Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 373 sandwich IL	alright,i called msd and showed them the auction and they said he only thinks they made a 6c,and maybe someone modified that box with that connector ,i did not believe him,caue if you read the auction and look at the pictures it looks factory msd,he even ask his supervisor,i just emailed the guy whose box this was to see if this is stock or modified???so what do you guys think????somebody please post a link on the completed auction on ebay so we can get to the bottom of this?????i want one so baddddd even if i have to modify......... Have yet to see another till now they are real but 30 years old. the shipping date on my box is oct 13 1980 (3 years before i was born)

From what I REMEMBER?? it will plug in identical but the MSD system is wired differently & will not work w a Mopar system AS IS whether your curent system is a 4pin ECU w 2 terminal ballast or a 5 pin ECU w a 4 terminal ballast. It lets you use the same (pentastar)plug in but you have to rewire the setup and you cannot switch back and forth at will which again if I am remembering this correctly means that you cannot stop on the side of the road & switch them then immediately compare the peformance difference which is the feature that I want. MSD does have a Nascar type coil selector and with some DTDT switches you could switch everything over. It'd probably take a fair amt of rewiring but it'd end up being a very nice immediate comparison (especially switching as your going down the road ). live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth

sublimehemi OP enthusiast Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 373 sandwich IL	alright guys,this is what i was wanting to do,i ordered this harness from yearone,its for my 70 charger converted to electronic ignition with 5 pin pentstar ecu plug.now when you get a factory harness converted from year one its like the 71 and up five pin set up with 4 pin ballast.its not the mopar performance 4 pin ecu set up from mopar performance.i called the harness tech line and he said you can run either 4 pin performance ecu box or five pin stock ecu as long as you run the 4 pin ballast anyway,i heard you can run it 2 ballast as well?i am wanting to get away from multiple discharge like orange chrome box cause i also want to get away with resistors as well so when i saw the msd 6al cd with 5 pin connector on the ebay auction,i was thinking of mounting that box under my batter tray and just plug in my connector cause it reaches over to it.....i think that a really stealthy set up.i am wanting to get the new firecore dizzy with mopar plug.so if i find a msd 6al with the 5 pin connector,like the one on ebay mentioned,and connect my ballast wires together??what else do i need to switch in the harness??? 5746552-Picture001.jpg (163 downloads) Last edited by sublimehemi; 01/19/10 10:25 PM. 70 charger ,all aluminum 528 hemi 727 cope rmvb,680hp 670 tq,full sequential holley hp efi,full hotchkis tvs,qa1 k and lowers,borgeson steering box cass viper 11.75 with cass s-trac dana 3.54
