I understand your debate, but this all been discussed and this class at Thompson is a result of ongoing issues with Norwalks 8.90 gig. They have been hashing this out on the Bullet for months and this is as close as they've come to pleasing the masses. As for me, if nobody buys my junk, I'll be there.
Yep, I've been watching all the threads about it. I think that's why the big tires and lexan windows were allowed, so more cars could be included and keep the car count up.
I sold my 73 DartSport because it had big tires and lexan windows which didn't fit into any of the local street car shootouts. Now I have a heavier car with small tires and glass windows and this class comes out, and the other shootouts have dissipated. Oh well I love the Dart!

I'd love to try it. Not sure yet on the funds to get all the ducks in line to get to 8.90 "legally". With a few more pounds of boost I could be there. It's an awesome class.

I think he is running a Camaro now........
Yes, I was afraid to bring that up!?? But it has a Mopar intake and TF? I just drive the car for Big John Stevenson. My fleet is all Mopar!
Several of us who didn't fit into the Norwalk Heads Up program put this class together.
This going to be a fun class. It was started because of the "Stock Frame Rail" restrictions for Norwalk's 8.9 SA class. Lots of cars displaced by the lack of a Gold and Silver class in Norwalk's OS are left without at home.
We are looking for "street appearing" cars not gutted bracket cars. The rules were patterned from the East Coast 8.5 index programs. There are exceptions to every rule and we'll look at anyones car who feels it's "street appearing" and fits the spirit of the class.
The test date May 8. May 15 is the back up in case of weather. If all goes well, we'll be part of the Asphalt Wars program throughout the summer!!!
Over 40 cars are committed to date. Check out the 8.9 thompson thread on yellow bullet.

Thanks for the post ViperAkron, what year and color is the camaro you drive so I can look for it?
Rick I'd LOVE to see you set the Chally up for this index! We'll keep a fresh bottle for ya! This is the kind of local class that would talk me into a power adder but all my funds have to go into my son's sports right now and I'm fine with that.
