The engine is a stock 1979 360 stock crank and rods. I steam cleaned it and did some measuring centerline of crank to bank measure's 9.601 , The bores measure as follows
1 4.001-4.002
2 4.001-4.0015
3 4.0015-4.003
4 4.001 - 4.0035
5 4.002- 4.0035
6 4.002-4.0035
7 4.002-4.0035
8 4.0015-4.003

I was very surprised how constant all the bores were for having 80k miles now my questions. 1 I'm interested in using STD KB191'S does anyone know if they are oversize enough that I can just have these cylinders honed? 2. With the Kb191 it states head milling my be required does this mean the quench area of the combustion chamber of the head? I am building a strictly strip engine for my 72 Dart nothing crazy just what I want to be a good running engine on a budget and I can go any direction because all I have at this time is the block, crank, rods and 596or 915 heads with nothing done tp them

You say 80K on the Engine ?
I'd be more concerned with "where" the ridge is, so that the new Pistons/Rings aren't trying to run over it ?

Better to be a "has been" than a "never was".

The question you should be asking yourself is, if the bores were good enough to run before, why'd you tear it apart? I'd re-ring it and use the stock pistons. If you're going to go to the expense of putting pistons in it, then have it bored to the next available size that the bores will clean up at. Prolly a .020 or .030.

With 80k you should have the block bored to true the
cylinders

I tore it apart for a few reason's to replace the 318 I now have,to up the compression and I've never built a engine

I only checked the front and it was within .01 from side to side

Ahh, I understand now. I'd still have it bored. If you've never built an engine, don't make things difficult on yourself. Get it machined and things will go so much better for you.

.01 ??? that would mean one side was 9.601 and the other was either 9.611 or 9.591 , thats a HUGE descrepency

Bore and square decking are in that block near future . The pistons will not be oversize enough for you to hone out the cylinders straight and round again , bore clearance is built into the piston .

Was looking at my notes the crank to bank measurement was 9.601 on the left and 9.599 on the right
