im looking at re-pluming my 727 trans lines on my 69 charger with a stock 383. i am looking at getting an external trans cooler. do the finned aluminum tube style work better then the flat ones that attach to the front of the radiator? im just looking for something that will work well and have an relitivly easy instal. thanks

the stacked plat cooler are a little more efficant at cooling

a finned tube one is fine if its large enuff for the appliction

I use 3/4 inch heater hose cut in 2" lengths to go between the rad fins and the finned cooler to keep a gap inbetween the cooler and rad

thats with the plastic zip ties they come with that you poke thru the rad core

best way would be mount it to the core support with flat metal to be a little more ridged

the gap will keep it from damaging the fines of rad core and not collect dirt and clogg the air flow thru it
