Well after restoring a '71 I can say it sure looks like Charger. Whether a 72 or not I am uncertain. Here's a '72 Charger I had for parts, look at the character lines/creases in the lower door and note that they do not meet. '73 and up I believe simply formed a single crease along the lower door and so they do not interchange with earlier models.

Yes 71 and 72 shared the same body lines but mounted a little differently and have different marker lamps. 73 and 74 are interchangeable with each other but not with 71 or 72 they are each there year specific.

I hope not. Here's what I figured out (with help) -
The exterior body lines on the fender are the same '71 - '74, the sheetmetal will work but the mounting won't.

'71 - the no-brainer difference - flush mounted marker light.
'71 & '72 - dimension top of wheel lip to fender peak ~ 9"
1972 fender to inner fender mounting slots are front to rear.
'73 & '74 - dimension top of wheel lip to fender peak ~ 7-1/2"
1973 fender to inner fender mounting slots are side to side.

please confirm or contradict

its a 72 with the angled brace. And yeah...you have got the measurements right...the wheel depth is right...I found out the hard way by putting a 72 fender with the 73 bucket section welded in on a 73.Did not notice until the car was cut and polished .....hmmm the rallye stripe must be cut wrong...wrong answer
