That that would get your attention! How about double adjustable AFCO shocks retailing for $299 and singles, including the new Reactor series that I am using on the front of mine, retailing for $199. Strange and QA1 have a new player in their price range.

As always, you can buy them from me and I am happy to pass on a deal to any of my Moparts buddies.
Also worth mentioning that they now offer a stock mount replacement radiator for B and E bodies as well.

I have used and like Afco products, but I would have to wonder what has happened that allows the prices to be dropped. My concern would be production being moved offshore or quality compromised. I hope neither of these has happened. Anybody know?

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Or... somebody at AFCO finally saw the impact of the current economic situation and decided their profit margins could be sliced some in order to make their product more price competitive.

Well, that wouldn't be an American way to do business these days. Everybody knows you have to send production to China in order to stay in business. At least that's what the CEO's keep claiming as they cash their $10M bonuses.

Addition of onsite CNC equipment helped a bunch. Current economic conditions also helped. However, there was a common theme they picked up on from talking to the racers. "AFCO stuff is great but I can't afford it" was heard alot and they listened. That being said, if they don't sell more shocks, they lose money. The impression I was given is the hope is that increased volume will make up for the lost margin. They are calling it their economic stimulous package

Actually I quit my job to go into business for myself so I am on computers all day long now.
Now you are really stirrin the pot there Don. That will teach me to drive the finish line too hard I did get reamed when I came back to the trailer for that little stunt
My recommendations for yours is probably exactly what I have on mine. Double adjustable on the rear and the Reactor series front. I got a really nice setup that it really liked the three speed. My glide (yes I have gone to the dark side) seems to like a less agressive setup.

Eric, got a question.
I'd like a set of doubles for the rear of my 68 dart which is still leaf sprung, but wonder if I could get them already setup for coil springs as well, so if I decide to go tri-4 link later I wouldn't need shocks as well? Is this possible or are shock lengths and travels massively different?

11.48 @ 120 with a 1.80 60' 318, stock 1.88 heads, stock 904, Pump Gas, 13 lbs of boost.

9.94 @ 134, 318 on pump gas, 14 lbs w/ Eddies, transbrake 727, 3600 lbs, 3.54 gear and 28's.

That will not be an issue. The doubles will have the same shock body either way.

So the Reactor shocks are $199 a piece? Is that the super dooper ultra secret shock you were testing not long ago?

That would be the one. In fact my shocks are still wrapped with the purple duct tape They even put a picture of my car on their flyer for the shocks.

Where AFCO really differs from the rest is in the design of their valving which they refer to as "Velocity sensitive".
My only experience with Strange was on the rear. My car was more consistent with the AFCO's on the back than with the Strange. I do like the increased adjustability of the AFCO versus the Strange. My front shocks have 44 clicks worth of adjustment on the rebound setting. AFCO also has a nice rebuild program as well.
