Whats the best (readily available) stainless trim polish out there. My trim is off so I can do it on a buffing wheel or ?. Lets hear it!

Go to the Eastwood site and buy one of their polishing kits that come with the wheels and compounds. Its relatively cheap and very easy, just take your time.

I like using Mothers polish--after I wet sand the trim with super fine wet sandpaper (600,1000,1500,2000 grit) depending on condition.
On smaller pieces,I use a buffing wheel on a dremel tool.I also have a vintage Dremel shoe polisher that buffs stainless out nicely.
But mostly I work it by hand.I apply it with my bare fingers, sometimes use a toothbrush and buff with a cloth diaper before it hardens up.
Lots of work with great results.

If it's not too scratched up any of the finer metal polishes will give good results...If you're sanding or got alot of scratches then Eastwood's kit with the buffing compound is the way to go...

Not meaning to change the subject,,but what will take the clear anodizing off aluminum so you can buff it??? I read something awhile back, but don't remember what they said to use. I'm thinking oven cleaner or something similar,,but that doesn't seem to work.

Oven Cleaner.
Now back to the subject of stainless.
400 grit until all the scratches and pits are out. Then 600 and wet sand beyond that.
Final polish with a Dremel or drill with a buffing wheel and jewelers rouge using very little pressure or you will put in swirl marks and have to start over again.
Best is to practice on a scrap piece. For me, it is relaxation therapy.

if you have acess to a buffing wheel, brown tri-poli on sewn buffing wheel will make it look like new,you can pick wheel, polish stick and even buffer at your local Harbor Freight store.
I can post some pics of my polish work with mentionned items

Easy-Off oven cleaner.

It may take a couple of applications but the lye in it WILL take off anodizing.

Don't cheap out and get an off brand and don't by the fume free junk.

It took 3-4 applications on a warm day to get all the anodizing off my '63 Dodge grille.

The Eastwood company also has a reusable anodizing stripper in a bottle that works great...Make up a small bath{like a cake pan} for the solution to sit in and use a brush to keep the trim wet and it takes it right off after a few minutes...I had to move the trim along after each section was stripped..
