I'm looking at buying a few tools for some fabrication, and was wondering how useful a throatless shear is? Is it worth buying one, or a waste of money?
Thanks.

To me a nice 4' shear is very useful(maybe even a 6')
My high priority fab tools were...Box break...52" step shear....Iron worker...bead roller...aviation snips(left..right..straight)...electric shear.

We have several Iron worker's and some pretty good sized tube/pipe bender's at work,,,I drool every time I see them and visualize them in my garage.
Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.
