I posted in the truck forum. Do you have any problems with noise while pulling your race trailers or not pulling in 6th gear? What gears does your truck have? Better to pull an enclosed with 4 wheel drive or 2 wheel? Looking at an 06 6 speed 4wd.

I do , what noise ?
It pulls my 30 foot up hill 75 mph without even grunting

If you are just using the truck for on-highway towing, you are better off with 2wd. Less weight, less to wear out and go wrong.

I run a old 95 3500 dually with the 96 6 speed case 2wd... works great pulling my 43' enclosed.... it has a 4.10 gear with the tallest tire I can get... still wish I had 1 more gear to keep the revs at 1900 My 2wd can get stuck pretty easy so the 4wd would help that but the 4wd burns more fuel(more weight and drag)

I drag my 53 ft trailer @ 28000 gross, in 6th gear all the time. It’s a 03 2wd 3.73 gears. It gets ok mileage while towing 12-13 MPG. Love my truck Joe

My old 2wd CTD would get stuck on wet grass.

Any of you guys use it to work around town as well? Great responses. I hope the 6 speed can be friendly while on a cell phone, eating Wendy's, and applying make-up..LOL JK... I would need to get the hands-free phone system for sure.. I just think its a great deal for 20. 65k miles.. leather, laramie. Am I crazy selling off my 02 auto ??
If you pass on it let me know

let me get this straight.you have a 95 truck with a 96 6 speed case? i didnt think you could get a 6 speed untill 2001?.if so how hard was it to change out.i love my 95 two wheel drive 3500 dually.but it really needs a six speed trans and im dumb enough to spend the money to convert to a 6 speed.lol!.

Lets just say one fell into my lap and it was a straight swap.... a friend owed me a favor and he put it in(I didnt have a hoist at the time) but they did come out with them in 96... its the best case, very beefy

2004 4X4 Daully 6 speed.4.10 gear.Top speed 91 mph gross weight 23,000.From my house to Columbus I ony shift to 5th one time on the 470 bypass at Wheeling WV top it at 62mph cross the bridge into Ohio at top speed and it carrys me to the top of the hill at St Clairsville, the rest of the way we hold it at 75 to 80 mph.We have made the trip adveraging 2 hours some times less. I wish We had gotten the 3.73 gears
On these trucks the only ones that should be spec'ing a 4.10 is the people using them for mason dumps and the like. They just don't need that much gear.

Our old truck had 3.55 with an auto.It would tow anything ang get 16/18mpg, not this 6sp/4.10 only 11/12 mpg towing.
