hey guys - stupid question:
My manual steering box in the Belvedere has a wire coming out from the bottom of it. Any idea what the heck it is for?

Thats a sweet '56. Mine isnt much to look at yet. It is going to get the gasser treatment. So far I have redone the rear springs, put an 8 3/4 under it, rediused the wheelwells slightly. In this pic I was experimenting with a borrowed set of wheels and tires to see what looks good. These were 15 x 8 wheels, with 28" x 9" tires. I think I will go with a 30' x 10" tire.

Yup - that was me. I'm going with an old Hemi. My buddy has two Desoto Hemi's i can buy from him - a 291 and a 276 i think. i'm going to keep those as back up plans - but i'm going to try to scare up something in the 331, 354, or 392 range. We shall see.

Yes, that would be great - I'm not spending any $$ until after the holidays - but any leads help.
I know it would be easier and cheaper to put a 440 in this car, but for some reason, 440 doesnt say gasser to me. Unless i came up with a wild looking induction combo..... them that defeats the cost savings over the hemi!
