I am trying to decide what to do with the stance/wheels/rear end on my 1957 Plymouth. I think I am going to go with 18's all the way around, probably a 5 spoke wheel of some kind. The cragars on there now are 16's. The tire width is 9" sidewall to sidewall. Tread width is 7". I can increase the wheel width and sqeeze another 2" of wheel/tire width in there, but I would have to add all of it by increasing the backspacing on the wheels. The deep set in look of 10" rims with minimal backspacing(3.5") looks better.
If I relocate the springs, replace the fuel tank, change the exhaust, and narrow the rear, I can get another 2.5" of wheel/tire width along with the deep set look.....
Any input?

they sure dont appear top be 16 inch,,usually when that big they dont look corect on a vintage car in my eyes,,unless its a BIG dollar custom,, i think your car looks great the way it sits,,cragars seem to have a look for any vintage,,would be a ton of work to change to the apperance your talkling about,,vintage correct would be chrome reverse,,but if you have the time, and thats the look you would like,,its your ride,,but i like it now just my 2 cents,,whats under the hood ?

I think your car looks great as it is. I wouldn't change anything unless you wanted to simply change wheel style and even at that I would not change to large diameter wheels with O-Rings for tires. It's just my opinion but those low profile tires and large diameter wheels just look like crap on older cars.

Thanks.I know what you are saying about the oversize rims and O-rings. 20" or larger will give you that look for sure.
