I went on a road trip today to WS Fiberglass and ordered my Cowl hood today $420.00 Looking around his shop sure looks like he puts out some awful nice products and I have yet to hear a negative comment about them.

I'm happy with my hood, but it did need work before it was ready to be installed.

I'm happy with my '65 Belvedere and molded scoop hood. It took 3 months to get it. Quality piece.

I am glad you had a good job on your hood.

My WS bumpers were really crappy

Good luck with that....Of course you can drive over that might help a lot. I waited 9 months for a hood from those guys. One excuse after another. When it showed the shipping was double what I was quoted and the hood well lets just say it was not the best I have seen. One pass and here is what I got for my almost $800. I fixed it up correctly and once we got done putting it back together and making it fit correctly it looked nice

I bought a scoop from WS...waited for months after I paid up front. It showed up unannounced after I begged them to call me when it shipped.

We opened it up, took one look at it sitting on the hood of my car and proceeded to toss it in the dumpster out back of the shop. To this day I can usually tell a WO/RO23 'glass hoodscoop from WS because they all have the same characteristics of crappy-ness. If they would send me a new, decent scoop at no charge I'd stop holding a grudge but at the time I was just getting rolling in life and still had to budget for little stuff. It would have taken one 1/4" of filler in spots to make that scoop right!

Open challenge to WS: Send me a decent quality scoop to make screwing me over right.

WOW I can't belive all the bashing going on. The most asked question on this forum is about fiberglass and where to buy. WS usally got very few if any negative comments. Now they are coming out of the wood work.

The way that scoop was mounted was flat-out WRONG. It should have been glassed-in from the bottom.

It was when we got done. What you see there is as it arrived, also unannounced so when the truck showed it was a total surprise with COD for shipping BTW. We did it right but took 20+ hours of work to make it right. never again woudl I deal with those guys. The scoop looked like it was held on with that gap filler foam crap for your home.

We were pressed for time so we installed it and went to the track that night. Installed the 10 dzus buttons and off we went. At about 900' mark the scoop went airborn, followed by the hood from the air pressure I guess. Car was not all that fast as it's best was 9.02 at 149.

, and for the nth time, they were the only maker for my hood, I ordered 4, took 4? months, needed work as the mold I assume was from a former scopped hood, and mine was a flat hood. They will likely always be very low on my list of fiberglass vendors.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Well...on a positive note, there are a couple of guys happy with them and I really hope that you are the recipient of a good product as well. But when the topics of fiberglass comes up on this forum, WS never gets a positive nod. My friend ordered a hood and bumper for his 66 Satellite and it was nothing more than an expensive Potatoe chip. It was horrible. The parts were so bad that three different body shops wanted more money to fix them than what he paid. I would not recommend them to anybody because of that experiance..
Maybe they have changed, different owners, operators, employees fo the better and maybe you will get a nice piece. Wish you luck.

Probably because they deserve it!!!

They screwed me around on a set of bumper brackets, then again on the shipping charge which included a C.O.D. extra fee after I told them to call me when the brackets were ready, and I'd send them the balance due!!!

Well atleast I'm not the only one. I have a 66-67 WO style hood that I'm probably going to have to give away. Very wavy, scoop has sags uneven. Body man didn't even want to mess with it. I thought about cutting it up and sending it back to them but why bother. I ordered another one from AAR. Alot better.

First time at the track I had to duct tape the front of mine down. On my first pass with it on, right around the 1000 foot mark the hood bent up in the center and left about a 1 inch gap between the hood and fender.

Adding two more pins in the center solved the problem.
