remove and replace the plug wires on at a time while the engine is running/popping. wear insulated golves and use insulated pliers. also have all eight plugs loose already to make it easier. when you get to a cylinder and the popping stops. write down what cylinder that was. if thats the case.. then most likly a bad valve. highly doubt its a cam lobe. its not a chevy LOL.

I think the push rods are my fault . i tried to crank it after i set the timing on an exhaust stroke accidently.so im going to get the rods and try it again..

Bent valve from the "incident" is most likely the cause of your backfire.

the back rocker on the #7 does not move.the push rod just sits thereand spins from the vibration.the back rocker on the #8 has tension on it but hardly moves either. so if im wrong for thinking its the cam please let me know before i go rebuild the whole darn thing...

While you are turning it over or when the engine is running? both? I didn't catch that part. You must've wiped some lobes which let the pushrods get out and get bent. Do a leakdown on it and see how 7 and 8 compare with the rest. If you lost a two lobes, you'll still be taking it all down to get the debris out, replace inserts, check out everything else.

i disconected the ignition coil just to spin it over and saw that they wernt doing anything. then i crunk it up and let it run they still didnt move. so i guess that i will go ahead and just rebuild..
