I've been lurking here for a couple of months anticipating this day. I finally have in my possession a 72 Challenger. I hate to admit that I have always been a Chevy guy, but E bodies have always been my favorite body style.
Anyway... When I picked the car up yesterday, the dash and basically everything inside had been removed. The car won't turn over much less crank using the key. I can get it to turn over by shorting the starter relay, but of course I don't have any spark. I have disassembled and reassembled the bulkhead "stuff". I have fire to both sides (yeah I can plug in a connector correctly) of the bulkhead, but nothing at the battery side of of the fuse box. If I understand some of the diagrams I have seen online... does the main battery feed run through the ampmeter before it even goes to the fuse box?
Any help/tips/tricks for someone who hasn't been around this stuff in 20 years and then it was GM stuff?
I'll try and post up some pics later. I'm so excited to finally have a "toy". Moparts is an excellent resource for us newbs.
