Got new Bests for La Putita!! New ET 6.302 old 6.336. New Best MPH is 108.627 old was 108.512. Changes were added a vacuum pump $500 and upped the air to 9# from 8. It all started out pretty crazy as I installed the vacuum pump on Friday after playing hookey from work. There was a lot going on so I did not get a chance to check for leaks, alignmnet ect. Hollywood and I get to the track and check the pulley alignment first, I rotate the motor and there is a huge wobble at the end of the assembly? Turns out the keyway was too long and keeping the end cap from seating. “Hollywood” is on it and clips and files the keyway and we have a good seat. Next we go to fire up the motor and nothing, Nada, Zippo. We check for fuel and are not getting any gas from the primer plus system. “Hollywood being the pessimist thinks the system has given up the ghost!! I am hoping for something less permanent. We start back checking and find that when I installed the catch can for the vacuum pump I pinched the fuel line to the primer plate system, a quick re-route and we have fuel. Again we go to fire and still NOTHING!! Hollywood digs deeper and finds a lead wire to the distributor has pulled out. We had made a temp fix at the MATS last year and the temp fix figure it had done it’s job and gave it up. Out with the soldering gun and thanks to an oil down on the track we had time to get it buttoned up. The rest like they say in the record books!! Diego

Ted, Congrats on the new best. I am sure you still have more room for improvement if that is what you are after. I agree J needs to haul his tank to the MATS. Heck we have room in the motorhome to crash
