Now I am getting concerned about my setup. Stock a-833 rebuilt by Wayne and a McCleod original twin borg/beck long style clutch which is what they told me i'd need for the 600hp small block and still be able to speed shift. Now after reading all this it's highly unlikely that I'll be doing much speed shifting at 8k without tearing out the whole driveline. LOL

Hemi boxes will break 3rd gear , that isn't happening at launch . Hopefully you aren't running a 23 spline behind that , if you are I hope you have a FEW in the garage ...

Yeah it's the stock a-body 23 spline just completely rebuilt. Wayne mentioned that the rear end should break before the trans. Hope so. I'll be taking it easy most of the time maybe only a few runs at the track. 99% street driven.

Don't let it dead hook off the line! Not a great comparison, but do you ever see a pro stock launch. Wheel spin! Keeps the clutch 100% locked up, and engine in the power band. If a pro stock car could hook at the line 100%, it would probably stall the engine, or break something.

I agree, dont let it dead hook. For street fun I either feather the clutch or just let first spin itself till it hooks because I need the rpm to hit my powerband.

Not long ago in the parts section, I snagged the g-force trans that was listed, perfect trans that I could not afford the $4600 If I had to buy if new.

Its a good straight cut gear trans up to 1000hp so they say. So I wont hurt it.
