Just did the swap a acouple weeks ago from a 904 with a 2.44 to the glide with a 1.80. I lost about .04 in 60 ft but I am using a 4.88 rear gear and a 32" tire. The 727 would have been a good tick slower and maybe would have went faster using the glide . The small block bell did not need any clearancing for my starter. I did have to shim it out a bit with the included shims but that was it.
Qoute from a racer that I race with alot. "You put a glide in the car??? Its still running 6.20's!" He figured I just did a chassis adjustment and took a bunch of wheelie out of it. BTW mine is 3005 with me in the seat fully fueled.
