what did you do to strip out the cowl area? I have had a heck of a time getting the paint out from in between all the bars....
I use what I call"the black death wheel" in a cutoff tool. Be careful using this and wear a face shield. It took me about 10 minutes and 3 wheels to strip the whole cowl panel. Here's a picture of my apparatus...
P.S.- they can be had at wally world or advance auto or autozone for about 6 bucks each with the arbor already made onto them or in bulk at the auto paint store in a ten pack.

great work! I'm partial to F5 or F8, but the trouble with B Bodies is so many colors look great on them. I'd say stay close to the original color.

Well well, it looks like my old Sport Satellite is now a big family project, and it was a big surprise. I did shed a tear the day he dragged it out of my garage in New York . . .Now I thought he might put some cheese in the quarters over a flattened Coors can like he discovered in his 69 Super Bee "BEE QUIK" . . . And I might even have been satisfied with a good "rattle can overhaul" . ..And if I had known what he was up to, I would have cut the cord off his compressor before he whacked off both ENTIRE QUARTER PANELS! It would have scared me to death, but not Chris. . .So now that it resembles a car again, I can breath again . . . .haha, and I even forgive him for all the times I found my wrenches in the lawn with my lawnmower! Some kid, and many thanks to all my kids, and all of Chris's friends and all of our friends here on Moparts . . .Now if I can only keep him from losing my 318 for a 440! ...Hey, gas is expensive ya know! moparjonz

Looking good! Spray a gallon on.....sand 7/8 of a gallon back off! So what's the "X" taped on the left quarter for?
That was a spot that got some block sanding prior to the heavy fill, just for good measure without going through the epoxy. No kidding about sanding most of it off,too bad I can't recycle it and put it back in the paintgun!!

OK- we have a winner on the color!! Check this out , it is 2009 "Plymouth" Electric Blue Pearl.Close to the original but with some new technology mixed in for effect!! It was a tough choice but I'm glad we can move on now and maybe see some color flying pretty soon. Here it is...Drumroll...

where are you located? We may be actually renting a shop shortly with a lift and a paintbooth so I can hook you up!!We would be able to handle ALL facets of body and paintwork from Racecars to restos and custom paintwork. May even have a mechanic and I have an Excellent MOPAR race engine builder that can build mild to wild engines and transmissions.I will keep you posted.May even be able to become an AMD distributor.

Thanks Donald , my dad thinks of all of my friends as his friends and even as his kids. I hope his car turns out as good as youre did. I feel obligated to put up a before and after picture of your car,if you don't mind. For those of you who do not have the good luck of knowing Donald, he is my best friend and I helped him with a "quick repaint " on his 69 dart.here is where we started...we cut the qtrs off this car(guess the car and win a prize)

sorry, I think my reference was a little obscure. That dart post car used to be a really fast smallblock car and was featured in and on the cover of Mopar collectors guide. Strange where they turn up,huh?

Actually the paintjob was done in Donald's shop where he works. They have a towyard and a repair shop.We just wet down the floor and let it fly! Tried not to blow and of the dust off the roof joists or the walls.

OK- hero coat on the car and it was very rewarding.now there is more than enough clear for sanding and buffing.Out the door Sunday night at 11pm for the 45 minute drive home.BUT the car looks good and the body appears to be reasonably straight.

Rocker moldings are from Metro parts and they fit real nice.Better than a LOT of the stuff I bought for the car.Beware of the repro wheel opening moldings.AND if you happen to be trying to make them fit any aftermarket qtr panel,GOOD LUCK.
Well that's encouraging.
Thanks.
Sorry I don't have anything better to say about the wheelwell moldings, but I figured you would appreciate a real world report rather than "they are great and you will love them".You won't. I was lucky to have a guy with a shrinker / stretcher that helped me get them to fit somewhat. But the tool left teeth marks on the moldings that won't come off. without that though I was gonna be throwing them in the trash .But also may be the A/M qtrs partially, they may fit better on an original qtr panel.

Nice work on the car! Are you planning on coming out to Mopar Madness (Dinwiddie) this year? You know they moved the date to May 14th. Not much time to get the Satellite out there.

Well,It is / was done in time for Carlisle and we all went and had a blast driving the car and hanging out with you guys!! Dad had a great time and we discovered the car definitely needs the disc brakes installed ASAP!! here is a pic of it on the showfield with dad sitting behind it just like I pictured it a little over 2 years ago.NOW we can get started on the 69RR,especially since I picked up a great deal on some much needed parts while at Carlisle.

Great job on the Sport Satellite. Those before pics take me back about 20 years to when my brother got his 68 Sport Sat. Looks identical in those pics (faded color and all) except his had body color wheels and center caps. Travis..
