Hello i want to swap my manual to pwr brakes on my 68 dart,

I have a booster and brackets, the only thing i do not have is the MC and the brake pedal rod..

is the rod the same on the man and disc?

if not where can i get one new or used..

should i use a 68 disc MC or a later model?

thanks

Don

here is some more info,

Last yr i changed from man 10in drums up front and switched to man disc, using GM calipers with a 2.5 bore.

Now i want to add a pwr booster from a 67 dart w/drums.

can i use my old brake rod? or do i need one from a pwr brake car?

also what MC? cast or alu? whats would be the difference in performance from the two?

what bore size? under 1" ?

the original MC i beleive has a 15/16 bore.

the rear brakes are 10 in drums also.
what do you think

I believe the PB assy has it's unique brake pedal rod that's different from the manual brake one. The 68 disc/drum M/C iron will work. A later alum M/C will save a slight bit of weight & requires a 4 bolt or 4 hole to 2 bolt alum adapter and Dr Diff can sell (or recommend) one with the correct bore size. No difference in the performance between alum and cast iron M/C's. You MAY require a different proportioning valve. Easiest/cheapest would be to get the above 68 MC & your missing PB rod & install it & bleed it out & see how it acts.
