Hey all, long time no been around! I appreciate all the turbo help, I am almost done with the install! I need another question answered if you will, maybe Kunkel will chime in. The old 904 gave up the ghost, and I got a good 727 from a 74 motorhome. The tailshaft is longer on this 727, what is the norm to do in this case, swap the housing and tailshaft from the 904 or shorten the driveshaft? does anyone know if the motorhome 727 has any special construction or benefits? Thanks all, I'll post when the turbo is up and running.

If you have the longer tailshaft 727(the type that uses a regular slip yolk vs a fixed yolk like 3/4 and 1 ton trucks) then yes you need to shorten your driveshaft. You also need a 727 slip yolk (the splines in the 904 are different)

NO you cannot swap the shaft etc.. from the 904.

As for internals, hard to say after all this time. Only a tear doen will tell you for sure.

shortin the shaft

904 and 727 dont mix

I have the short shaft 727 and will build a drive shaft with a splined slip yoke in it
