Ed, i like "In Limbo" or "Aged Iron" In limbo really describes what the class is that your trying to start. In limbo between ok driver and show car! I sold my '70 Bee 6pak 4spd 4:10 dana car as a driver with older resto and lots of bondo in the quarters, i would have never restored it to show class. Had to get the M-cuda!! Dave

I'm the CARETAKER of Weinstats '69 440 'cuda registry and have 104 of the 360 cars to date. 84 fastbacks/20 coupes. Always looking for new(REAL M-code) '69 440 'cudas to add to the registry so drop me a note if any are found or known. This isn't a publicly released registry. Thanks, Dave

I love the dealership display, I think what you guys have done with that is awesome. Some year in the future, perhaps after 2011 when us guys with the 71s get our turn (sorry 72+ guys), I'd love to see you do whatever it takes (including even giving up the give aways) to give Steven whatever he'd need to bring the entire RTS caravan out, and host him at the dealership.

The RTS Caravan would be awesome. We'll see...

What do you guys think about vans? I know we have a few serious enthusiasts on here but what about the rest of you? Do you guys want to see the vintage customs and conversions AND can we get some good ones to come here?

Ed

I love the RTS Caravan idea as im sure others would. I would bet it would draw in many more of the on the fence folks. A rare opportunity to see something like that. Heck that would be worth of entire smaller building for cars

For 2010 you should go after Dave Waldon to bring his white/blue Challenger R/T for the dealership display

As for 2011...Lets hope and pray Steven could honor us with the RTS display...That would certainly be a "once in a lifetime" event for everybody

P.S. Happy aniversary

I loved seeing the RTS Duster there in the past.

I vote for sixpakdodge to be the beauty contest screener A Saturday night cruise to hang would be cool. I took a blast down the Pike and there plenty of people hangin' .And lastly, get the POLICE some extra donuts so they leave us alone.I received a summons for "NO HOOD" Saturday afternoon on the Pike,in the rain,on the way back to the motel

There's ways to "circumvent" that problem, If you like the look of "hoodless" cars, just cut away enough of a stock hood so that it appears non-exsistant, but yet is technicaly still on the car, just has a "hole" for engine clearance, or improved airflow

I don't know what to tell you guys about a place to cruise. As some of you found out the hard way, some of the cops around here are pretty harsh - Middlesex Township being the worst. The best place to cruise (Rt. 11) runs right through Middlesex. The borough of Carlisle (downtown) has a no cruising ordinance and I highly doubt they are going to lift it just for us.

We have to maintain a good relationship with the local communities for obvious reasons so we (Carlisle Events) can't organize a cruise. That leaves you folks to do it yourselves but I think we all know there will be those who can't behave and it will be shut down right away. Even during the Corvette Parade participants are told if they do ANY burnouts they will be pulled from the parade.

I wish I had a solution for this but I don't. If people were just going to cruise then it wouldn't be a problem but as soon as the burnouts start, the cops will start pulling people over.

Ed

I didn't read all of the replies to this post so I'm sorry if this was already suggested. I go to Carlisle every year for the Mopar show only and I look forward to it every year. I think it would be interesting if there was somebody set up to actually cut off old crusty quarter panels and weld new ones on during the course of the week end. By Sunday, the car could have new quarters and maybe a new trunk floor installed. People who are wondering if they can tackle such a job like that at home can watch the whole process and see it first hand and be able to ask questions. Maybe AMD would bring a rust bucket and install some of their products. If they did I bet they would sell a lot of them during the week end. Just a suggestion. Rob

Integrate this in with the give away car or something...

Having someone work on my car would be of more benefit then getting another car...

An idea for the give away car is get a car that is "rusty" have them weld it up on site (in a shelter from the rain and sun), and give that car away?

Here's one I have been thinking of for a while.

Kind of a Overhaulin' type of thing.
Buy or have a un restored car donated. Have a shop paint it before the show, hopefully with donated sheet metal parts and material. Have the car arrive on Wednesday and brought to one of your buildings. Then throughout the weekend have the various suppliers come in and install their products on the car. Motor, trans, interior, you get the idea. By Sunday it is done and given away either as your giveaway car or sell raffle tickets to recoup costs to the vendors or for charity.

You've gotten a lot of good suggestions there Ed, maybe you'll need to setup a survey people can take. SurveyMonkey.com is a good tool for that.

I can't remember but is there a tram running around the event? It would help people get around to different areas or even back to the gate. If there is, maybe you need more.

Also stress to the food vendors that there are many people there at the show who don't get a chance to get something to eat UNTIL everyone else starts to clear out. They rake in the cash when it's busy so they could stay open a bit longer for those who couldn't come by during the day.

I need to come back again for Carlisle.

I really like the project in progress driver cars idea that class would likely bring 100 + cars ..

No trailer queens !

Boy have I got a candidate for that class ...

wow, I thought that was what the FUN FIELD was for... I've been driving my cars for years (except 08, couldn't afford the gas for my one running mopar) and have never been concerned about any awards. Heck, my Challenger didn't get hardly any notice last year and I had it only ~2 weeks since buying it from the original owner and driving it 320miles one way. I like looking at all the "unfinished" cars there...
