i think going to one big event and not supporting the ECNSSA all year round is wrong. there should be some rules stating you must race with ECNSSA a certain amount of times per year in order to race in this event. its not fair to the guys who support the club year after year and race on a continuos basis . the fair weather racers know who they are who only attend the races with big payouts with ECNSSA.

Good luck Tommy! If my junk was still together I'd be there.
what about loyalty to the club all year round, guess that means squat right to all the loyal members.

Tommy, if it wasn't such a long tow for us we'd be interested.....but for us Atco is a haul. Besides, it's supposed to snow up here on the mountain this weekend. We do intend to run some more 422 races next year, though, all the ones that are within reasonable drive time.
So, we'll all be pulling for you. Go Get 'em.

Well, I for one live more than 3 hours from Atco, so, at best, I would only be able to run a limited schedule.I can understand wanting someone to come for every race, that's great, but I just can't understand wanting to exclude someone for not being able to make every race.

I`m planning on coming for the regular Mopar Race but the weather isn`t looking good, a rainy Nor`easter is coming up the coast. Hopefully it will blow out to sea.

When involved with a club or association if your dues are paid you should be able to attend or not attend races/functions as your schedule allows. All members have different obligations- family matters/ monitary constraints/ vacations- at times that may not allow participation. Better to have the car count and put on a good show for the track/fans than worry about penalizing those that participate when they can.
well i feel if they havent raced all year with the club, not paid there dues by the 1st race and just go to this 1 race and pay there dues that day, i think that really sucks for the ECNSSA racers who show up maybe not for every race but for a fair amount of races. i think on this finale S/S spectacular, late participants should pay a late fee of $50.00 plus the normal association fee, This is a $2000.00 to win race,so 1 time racers to this event should not get treated the same as members who paid early in the year and who raced at most of the races.

The only problem with that is that you limit yourself to entries. You can't do that, and then complain about car counts. It is supposed to snow here, but if the weather was going to be better we had batted around the idea of making the tow out. It is a 6 hour tow, but we have relations in the area and it would be a nice get together. But, there is no way we could make that tow on a regular basis, so one event a year is all we could probably do. We certainly would not do that if we were turned away as not being one of the "regulars". A much better way would be to post a bonus for one of the regulars, or something along those lines. Good luck this weekend, Tommy. I wish you and all the 422 group all the best.....we'll see you next year a bit more often.

Or how about a seperate "perfect attendence" race

Interesting idea SLIPAPEE. You could run with the regular 12-20 car count. You would have a tough time calling that a "Spectacular" though. We're simply playing within the rules. We built a car to fit into the N/SS catagory, and like to race that style of format. We made a decision at the beginning of the year to race with the 422 group, and were loyal to them. Now our season is over and we're interested in finding places to race for the remainder of the season. I have kept in contact with Mark Skinner throughout the season letting him know when we could and couldn't show up. Unfortunately, the ones that fit our schedule ended up being bad weather days and we stayed home. Incendentally, I have raced at all but one of the Nostalgia Super Stock Spectacular races going back to it's inception. Also of interest may be the fact that Mark Skinner has asked the racers from the 422 group to come support this event so that the ECNSSA can put on a good show...and thereby receive some $$$ for payouts. Last year roughly 8 cars showed up for the "Spectacular" that were 422 regulars. Most of those guys have made it to some ECNSSA events this year. You may want to bounce some of your ideas off the group at a meeting sometime. Sending nasty-grams out over this site doesn't really change anything. Hope to see you first round. Tommy
hey big shot tommy boy, got your peacock feathers ruffled, have you. as far as i can see all you is a fair weather racer who couldn't give 2 craps about any of your fellow racers with ECNSSA.its all about the money with no loyalty. go play with the 422 boys.
