I bought a S60 DANA from a member here for my GTX
also I know the snout/Pinion of Dana protrudes out farther than a 8 3/4 anyone know how far so i can give an exact measurement. Before I go to the driveshaft store.

I ended up shortening mine 1", but to be sure you really should get the rear in and measure it direct for the most accurate measurement.

Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

52.07 with a 383 4brl--8 3/4 axle
50.39 with 440/426--9 3/4 axle

From the MP specs the Factory Dana is snout protrudes 1.12" further then the 8.75 rear. So about a 1" difference.

I dont know if the specs are the same for the S60 after market Dana.

I would definately put it in first and then measure to find the optimum length driveshaft.

So NO, to the Driveshaft shopping before the rear is installed. mike

Unfortunately, because you are not running an OEM Chrysler pinion yoke and transmission yoke in both applications you can't simply subtract 1" from the original driveshaft length.
