I sprayed the car for the first time on sat. It was some of the worst weather you could ever race in, scalding hot 96* and high humidity, typical florida air I guess Frown
Anyhow, the car was slow on first run, all motor. Turned the timer on at 005 off at 2.505. I picked up .04 in the 60 and .06 in the 1/8th with one less mph. Track was probably 10-15* hotter on the nitrous pass also with 200' more d/a.

it is an nx twin gemini with 57NOS and 52fuel jets in it. I ran 6psi to be safe and pulled 10* of timing.

Do these #'s sound close?? I will check the plugs today. It almost felt like it hesitated on nos but the 60' improvement says no. I though I purged the system well. One other thing I will check is bottle fill level. Bottles came with car and are "supposedly" full. I had 900psi bottle pressure.

any tips for a nos rookie appreciated!

How much HP are you trying to spray? Why are you spraying for such a short time? You said you took out 10* of timing...was that for the whole run or only when the spray came on? You are going to need to get the bottle over 900#. I usually have mine at 1050-1100 when I leave the line.

nx says at 5 psi that would be 200hp

I am spraying for 2 secs until I am comfortable with the tuneup. I am only looking to gain .15-.2 in the 1/4mile for Rockingham in 2 weeks. I have a high 7.6x car and want to dial low 7.5x

taking out 10deg only while on the nitrous, iirc I have it ramped back in over .5sec.

I probably will call Monte but i feel bad taking his time as I'm not a paying customer...

rt, I run 37* total timing on motor. This is a bbc headhunter 24* conventional head, 604ci 15:1
I will have to dig up the card for lobe sep, not a nitrous cam for sure

plugs looked good but I did drive it in the garage so may be misleading. I can kill it sat. after a run and check them without idling.

the 200hp tuneup calls for 5psi, I am tee'd off my belt drive that runs 6.5 to the carb so I'd think it is 6psi flowing but have not checked it. Don't really have the right tools to do so??

I run the NX kits , there pretty good with their jet spreads , you must be running the older style plate which calls for 5psi FP as opposed to the later plates which use 8/10psi FP? , running 6psi FP on that plate could be fat with the 57/52 jet spread.

plate is brand new so should not be "older style"
the tuneup card that came with the kit is different then the tuneups listed on their website.
I think I'll give them a call

I talked to Mike Wood in depth today and learned a lot!! First that my alky perimeter system will not work on gas I had originally planned to spray on alky but recently saw big gains on gas and no alky fumes to kill me in the car! So looks like my alky system will end up on the dragster or on RJ. Jegs has $50 rebate on NX systems and with my racer discount a new system minus bottle for $450 is what I will do. I would've cost $300 just to convert what I have. This way I'll have some extra parts if needed.
