For a 69 up car the www.beaparts.com pads are the way to go. Scott Smith had a NOS pad right next to it with a ton of detail pics and people had a tough time ID'ing which was which.

Sorry I don't have a link to that thread. I think it was in the new products section.

I purchased one of BEA's A-body dash pads and will buy another...

One is NOS, one is BEA's reproduction, can you tell which is which? Side by side there are VERY few differences, the reproduction is far better than any recover job will ever produce. They are made just like an original with a molded in steel & foam core and built in studs.

I installed this one in a 71 Demon with zero problems, it fit and went on like an NOS pad, texture and grain was also VERY close. Best couple hundred bucks you'll ever spend on revamping an A-body interior.

2nd pic

The color is off due to light reflection, the actual colors match and are a true deep black.

Thx for the great input guys. Since a thread has been started on abody dash pads I might as well give everyone a heads up that the 68 pad is almost finished. I test fitted the first one last week, the tool will need to be bumped around a bit before a production run is made. It's really close.

Awesome!!

I was talking to Troy about his Hemi Dart clone project recently. He was holding off finishing his dash resto until the 68 pads came out.

Will you later come out with colored pads like you do with the B-bodies?

I never understood why some people delete there posts after getting an answer. Kinda makes it hard for others to learn from your questions.

I agree.

I choose to bump this thread because it had those really good comparison pictures Scott posted. But the title is screwed up. Maybe I should have bumped this one instead: https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...rue#Post5258762

I'm very happy with the 69-76 A-body dash pad from BEA. I'll be installing it very soon.

Mike, are you shipping these 68 A-body Dash Pads yet?

Some other company has them on thier website but the person answering the phone had no idea of the new part.

They're really close Steve, we had to bump the tool around a little from the first one, we are definitely coming down the home stretch.

Thank you for spending the time to get them to fit right. Unlike the other A-body pads, the 68 interlocks with the lower pads and the fit there is critical.

Top Maroon pad is 69 up. Bottom green pad is 68 ONLY

Can't wait to get a 68' pad. My.dad was getting out of the driverside and used the pad are a hand support. Needless to say, it needs a pad really bad.
