I'm assumeing the block has hemi mounts because it is sitting on the k-frame with schoemacher (bad spelling) rubber mounts. I didn't want the motor plate because of the vibration, but I do like the idea of centering the engine. If I used an Alter-K-tion frame wouldn't that solve the clearance problems?

I wasn't thinking about header clearance. Sounds like I need to go ahead and buy some for mock-up.

Also need info on the front of the engine, such as water pump, alternator brackets, and fan pulleys or elec fan???

my engine ended up centered based on the header fitment. I have Hooker Super Comps and they are pretty big and take up some room. I did not have to ding them, but torsion bars would have killed me trying to get these to fit. I run a MF system. My goal was to get it closer to center so I could get the passenger valve cover off. Like you said, pick up a set now, and figure out where it will land becuase it will help sort it out.

As for the engine accessories...That's easy, see pic.

In my Challenger I had the hemi in the stock location on shumacher mounts without a problem. I slightly notched the passenger side valve cover but eveything else, including hooker s/c 2.1/8 headers fitted without a problem.

I guess if you really want to get it centered you'll run into problems with the firewall and trans tunnel. With my 4-speed the bellhousing already was very close to the firewall / tunnel, would not be able to move it an inch.

Mine had no issues with the firewall or the trans tunnel and I run a JW ultra bell which is thicker than stock. My only reason was valve cover clearance on the passenger side, and I could not move it further due to one of the header tubes that kicks out under the frame rail to go around the torsion bar. It also helped the launch because the left front stays more even than it did in the past.

Yeah, still terrororising the neighbourhoods

Went to the track the this weekend, still need to get a handle on getting it to leave the hole, 60ft times are attrocius (1.40's-1.60's )

Best run was 9.12 @150mph, 1.42's 60 ft.
At least heading in the right direction, that was in full street trim, excluding the slicks

That Cuda looks like a Pro Mod car. I bet its fun to drive.

Where is the best place to buy hemi engine parts? I could buy from the engine machine shop that I choose to build it or I could look for used or never used parts on the net, like here on this board or ebay or racing junk. Any thoughts?

Most likely, your going to end up buying the parts you need new. Used hemi parts, good used hemi parts, seem to be difficult to get lately. Been looking for a few myself.

I also like the Pro-Mod Cuda shown. Mine is only a 780hp Pro-street Cuda and that thing is just wicked. Can't believe how mild the idle is. I would trade my engine for somthing like that in a heart beat, just awesome.

Hi Mark,
The fun thing in this story, we have the same chassis builder, and the Mark's car was built just after mine (in '96 !)
Here is a Youtube link where we are together, hope your chassis gremlins are gone !
