I went to put the new engine/trans in the '71 Charger today with the CSI carbon Fiber Trans Shield.
I hammered the pinch weld flat, but the shield is still hitting the trans tunnel right where it curves under from the firewall. Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to the firewall too?

It is a tight fit I have to mate trans to engine, attatch shield, then put floor jack under trans & jack the trans & shield up into the trans tunnel, almost to the point of lifting the car up off the jack stands, to be able to get rear cross member in place and bolted up. (72 Cuda, 440 w/ 727) Good luck!
