by calculators that I've found, my converter is slipping approx. 10% at the stripe.
(26.5" tire/5500 RPM @ 101mph w/ 3.91's)

Also, I'm picking up about 20-25* in trans temp from when I pull into the burnout box, until I check guages at top end. Does this sound normal?
It's ranging from 180 as I start my routine, to 205 as I shut down. So, not hot, just gaining some temp.

How should I feel about this? Im just watching things closely, because I lost a converter & trans last year due to heat.

3 to 5% is considered good,6 to 10 % is not unusual. Don't forget to use tire growth in your calculations before deciding if your converter is loose or not One way to help determine converter lock up RPM is to go out in 2nd or 3rd gear about 2000 RPM and nail the throttle while watching the tach (a playback tach makes it real simple to do ) and see where the RPM go to (the flash stall)and where it starts to pull after going to the flash stall. Now whatch the RPM drop on the 2 to 3 gear shift and see where it drops back to, if it drops back to or under the flash stall try shifting the motor higher to get the RPM drop above the converter stall speed on the shift That should help the slippage , especially on the 2 to 3 gear shift which will help lock the converter up sooner in high gear
