I Talked with my machinist today, and After a bit of discussion I decited to let him go ahead and assemble my short block. Its something I LOVE to do, but after finding a stretch guage which is 160 bucks. He is only charging me another 225 bucks to file my rings, install cam bearings, clearance the cylinders for the rods, and install pistons on rods I couldnt say no. Im still gonna assemble the heads, and degree my cam, just not gonna do the really fun stuff. He told me im at zero deck now, and the compression will yield me 10.8:1. Should be a fun street car.

I never in a million years ever thought I would have someone else assembly one Of my engines, But I really REALLY trust Keck, and He is so decently priced I couldnt say no.

Brian is great, he hasn't let that big city life of Quimby spoil him ..

Just walked in the door after stopping at Kecks tonight. Brought him the last pieces for the motor he is putting together for me. Sounds like I better call him tomorrow and make sure mines first on the list!

Brought my stuff down awhile back but I kept changing my mind and bringing different parts, then things got busy and I told him I didn't need it right away but I think we finally have it figured out now.

You will be very happy with the final result I am sure.

Good job putting those parts together Kasey. With zero deck & those heads you will have perfect quench with the nice combustion chambers. You will be able to run it on pump & crank enough timing in it with a 0.40 head gasket to make it really responsive on the street or strip. I planned to do almost the same setup you have. Can't wait to hear the results. Randy

Can't beat that price. INDY would charge $800

Since when is filing rings fun?

So he's had your stuff for 7 months and you've been on here trying to figure out how to put it together? I must have missed something

Yes you are right, but I bet they would throw in the "We are the Mopar Gods and you are an idiot" lecture for free.

Dont get me wrong, I wasnt chompin at the bit to file the rings, but I like meticulous (sp) stuff like this.

And on the statement from goldmember on me trying for 7 months to "figure out" how to put it to gether, I know what Im doing, but Didnt have the specs on the rod bolts, and since Child and Alberts are out of business, I couldnt find them, and didnt want to chance screwing something up like the bottom end. The rest of it is all ARP, I can handle them, they have specs everywhere.
