How can someone coming from NYC with a car on a trailer avoid the small fortune of tolls spent to get to the track?
What is the road trick used?
If there is only going to be Woolworth trophies given out at the end, then it should not cause so much to get there in the first place.

I thought the expensive part was going from NY to NJ?? IIRC, crossing the GW cost me $22 last time. Most guys prefer the Tappanzee for that. 87 to Mass pike to Rt 22 in NY shouldn't cost that much??

I could send you thru CT but you would spend much more in gas!

or 95 to 684w to 9n to 20 .
There's a few ways.Are you taking a trailer?
If not Sprain into Taconic pkwy. and up with a few zig zags.

You'll still take it in the shorts on I-80 through OH and IN.

118 miles in OH cost me $7.25..........because I have a diesel
truck and I wasn't towing. (OH still considers it a Class 2!)

80 miles in IN cost me $3.75

That just flat pisses me off! [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean]!

I was thinking Las Vegas was a haul from NYC for a race.

Oh well, I needed to get that off my chest anyway.

What are tolls That must be a east coast thing We don't have no stinking tolls in the west , except in the Seatle, WA and San Franscico, CA(liberal democrat country) bay area My condolences to you that have to pay those tolls

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Kiner. Yes I am taking a trailer.
I don't have Pablo's number anymore, but I heard that he is going. He's flying in that little fish. I got my dollars on him for a money race coming up soon in Jersey.
Yes Curtis and a small "Brooklyn Dodges" crew are going to swap and or race. Curtis doesn't think that a Woolworth trophy is worth all the tolls and driving also. Wish the track could gather more of a purse.
So I gather that this route that you outlined is free of tolls or is it less tolls?

Don't think you can pull a trailer on the Taconic (at least you couldn't 20 years ago...). I know they're letting pickups on it now.

Find a way to get to 684 from Brooklyn (my NY navigation is getting rusty having left there 20 years ago...) then head up 22 to 20. Yes, it's all back roads, small towns and such, but no tolls, and pretty scenic along the Berkshires...

Who cross the GW , NYC is a nightmare , Tappenzee is cheaper , but still last time I went across is was 9 bucks for the truck and trailer, if you have a triple axle trailer and a dually bend over and grab your ankles ...

Tappan Zee was $13.25 last Sunday Up from $9.80 last October. GW was $13.80 in May. Both were with my 2 axle open trailer with the Dart and Hemi Ram

Yet another reason to loathe NY , the EXTORATION charged to cross the hudson
