If all goes well I will be going to Irwindale Dragway next Thursday. Never been there, anyone have feedback regarding track prep good or bad?

The car I'm bringing has 9" radials and should go 6.70's, maybe 6.60's, any lane better than the other?

Thanks

The one in California? I noticed your are from North Carolina and I wasnt sure. I guess you could be in town with your car. If you are talking about the California Irwindale Speedway, you will like it. They usually have good traction. Just make sure you get there around 3:00 pm and have your car ready to pull off the trailer so you could be first to race. When we go, we get there early enough that the track officials wont let anyone into the track parking lot. Instead they divert the racers to a waiting lot which is where my brother and I unload the car. He drives the car straight to tech while I park the trailer. We are always one of the first on the track. At that point, you could hot lap the car a few times if you wanted to before the crowd arrives. It gets crowded sometimes.

10.53 @ 125mph. 1.37 60 foot. Caltracs and Monoleafs, AFCO shocks.

Heads by INDIO MOTOR MACHINE; IMM.
CP Pistons, PC Carbs.

Yes, I built and dyno'd the motor out here where I am, shipped it out there, and am flying in next week to put it in and run it. Thanks for the tips on the track.

I agree w/Sloan, get there early and you SHOULD get plenty of passes in and my sig pic is at that very track.........the hook is awesome and better than any track I`ve raced at. Good luck and maybe I`ll see ya there as a spectator.

I would say use the left lane only///the right merges into the left at the end and there is a big bump in the right.

and its mufflers only no open exhaust

10-4, probably won't be able to get there quite that early(3pm), but we'll do our best.

Good info, I'll use the left lane. I had heard that there were some unmuffled cars there on a Thursday a while back?

Some cars sound uncorked and the tech`s will peak at those cars and make sure they at least have cone inserts from what I`ve seen but you definately need SOME type of noise pollution dampner.

If you have some friends driving seperately make sure you have them take up space next to your trailor or some knuckle heads will park so close to you that it causes issues. Where abouts in So Cal will you be.

Corona, anyone have any of the muffler insets for a 3" collector that we can borrow just for Thursday?

Thanks
