A little solidarity between the pro stocker's would stop that in it's tracks. If they all said no, NHRA would have no show to sell, and would maybe realize the sport belongs to the competitors, and fans, and that they're merely a facilitator.

You guys are nuts to think that a united front will change anything.
i don't know about that, it's worked pretty well in the past. were it not for united fronts we might not be able to do what we are right now

I think if you read the rule book (I haven't) you will likely find a line that reads something to the effect of "at the sanctioning body's discretion". Which translated means the rules are for you not them.
Kevin
Exactly. Does not matter what the rule book says, it onlso has a passge that says "tech officials have the final say" and that means, you do what we say, or you don't race.
They are not tearing down motors here. They are looking for something specific. Likely in the shocks, or traction control. They will not actually be putting wrenches on the cars. That is specifically spelled out in the rule book, that crew members will disassemble any mechanical parts at the discretion of tech.
Warren is just mad, because it no longer takes just hard work to stay on top. You can now do it with money. If you have unlimited funds, you can have the best cars, best motors and best people to make it all work.
Totally off topic here, but there was a special on ESPN today about John Wooden and some of his old players were talking about his values and how tough he was. Walton was recalling about Wooden complaining about his hair and Walton told coach that he had no right to question his hair. Wooden replied, "you are right Bill, but I do have a say in who plays and we will miss you", Walton got a haircut.

"They are looking for something specific" Or maybe they are looking for nothing at all. Just throwing a fake out to shake up the troops.

watching the race from z max on espn and jason line said they went back to the shop and worked all nite on the carbs .he goes out the next round after setting new track record and loses to a.j.how could nhra allow them to leave the track when they are scrutenizeing the class?
No rule against it. Actually they said he was on the dyno until midnight, working with the carbs. Again, no rule against it. He is not the first and won't be the last to go back to the shop or have something brought in. I was at INDY the year Lingenfelter rented a chopper to bring him in a spare engine. Then it rained and they used the chopper to help dry the track.
