I have a question. Do they make more than one kind of babbit bushing? I am getting ready to swap out converters in my 73 dart. My new turbo action converter cam with a new babbit front pump bushing which is a dull white color. ok the reason i ask this is when i was putting my 727 together i messed up the bushing i got from crt.So i got three new bushings from the parts store. here is the part number pioneer p/n 755003. all i can say this does not look like any babbit bushing i have ever seen. so i went back to the parts store and the parts car calls up pioneer and they swear up and down it is a babbit bushing.so i went ahead and used it.

OK sorry for the long post. the reason i am asking this question is i only have 10 passes on this tranny and i do not want to take the tranny apart if i don't have to. But i will if i have the wrong bushing in there. to me the bushing looks more like a bronze than babbit. here is a pick of the one i am talking about. thanks Mopar65

That is not a babbit bushing that is a bronze bushing 2 different materials the 727 came from the factory with a bronze bushing but the converter companys prefer babbit.
