Has anyone used cross bolt mains on the RB before and are they any stronger than stock caps.

Cross bolting the stock block actually weakens the block and can cause create stress risers in the area that you drill the side of the block. You can't compare a B or RB to a Hemi which had a different casting/core box when created with extra material to make that setup work. Been done many times on B R/B but the setup time to do this is very expensive at the shop level and has been proven to not be as effective as just aluminum caps and or a girdle setup.

Will aluminum caps live in street use for extended periods? Like thousands and thousands of miles?

Will they extend block life and be better than some sort of steel caps?
