Here is a stupid question. Are two door and four door seat tracks different. Bench type 1970 model year. I've really had no reason to know this, until now. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure they are. I got a pair of bucket seats out of a '68 Coronet 500 4-door and bolted them right into my convertible. I would think that would be the same for a bench. Of course if you're using a 4-door bench instead of just the tracks you'll have a hard time getting in the back seat. 4-door buckets are convertable.

For 70 B-Bodies the answer is absolutely yes
they are different. Different part numbers in the
parts books.

I don't believe that the part numbers are stamped
anywhere on the track itself. So its almost impossible to tell the difference.

Because of the lack of bucket seat tracks
bench seat tracks are used because they will
"Fit" for people swapping bucket seats into
a bench seat car...

The thing to remember is,
On a bench to bucket swap there are
braces which are suppose to be welded to
the floor. Those braces are made and sold
in the aftermarket (I forget where)...

I think the bucket seat tracks for B-Bodies
are now available from BEA parts but they
are really expensive... $395 I think..

I'm not absolutely positive, but I believe that seat tracks for 2 and 4 door bench seats should be the same.

The seat itself is different (4 door seat backs don't fold forward), and the tracks are different between bench and bucket, but I can't see why bench seat tracks would be different between 2 and 4 door cars.
